The Silent Killer ALL Women Battle
Let’s take the time out right now to talk about the “S” word: STRESS!
In today’s world women are trying to do it all, and be everything to everyone. You are a wife, a mother (to kids and partners – snicker snicker), a sister, a friend, a household manager, a business manager, and who knows what else. You have so many responsibilities and duties that at the end of an average day you feel spent, used, overwhelmed and super tired. You want your glass of wine and a piece of chocolate to help you escape.
The thing is, adding alcohol and sugar to your already stressed body and mind is the absolute wrong way to handle it. Alcohol and sugar actually put additional stress on your body, making it work harder to process and deal with a sugar spike and depletes your adrenals which puts you in trouble again. This puts your body in the “fight or flight” response, which is the worst possible place to be, especially when you are seeking to wind down!
Whether you are running from a big, hungry bear or resting in bed at night while worrying about financial strains, kids, or work, you are secreting similar amounts of stress hormone. By cleansing toxins and learning some of the simple techniques from the Optimal Living Institute, you are taking stress off the body and allowing it to heal itself. If you are having trouble with falling asleep, take a nice hot Epsom salt bath or calming hot water shower before bed. Get a massage or spend some time in the sauna. Chamomile tea, deep breathing, positive thoughts, calming music can all help get you into a relaxed state where your hormones can function better in order to produce the chemicals your body needs to cope with every day stressors. Remember, you can do anything you put your mind to and you will succeed because you want to and you have a good support system.
We know that your stress won’t disappear overnight but learning a few simple techniques and create some consistency and your body will thank you. So, don’t hesitate, dive into it and embrace all of the challenges that are going to come while starting a healthy lifestyle change. Then again, nothing really great happens if there is no hard work involved. You are a hard worker any way, so don’t give up all your powers to negative thoughts.
